Guidance

Tips for a Smooth Trip

Practical advice from someone who just completed this trip to help you avoid common pitfalls.

01

Book Your Cab Early

Book a cab at least 1–2 days before you reach Rajkot. Since the temples close around 8–9 pm, any unnecessary delay at the airport jeopardises the Day 1 schedule.

02

Travel Light — 1 Backpack

CNG taxis are the lowest-cost option, but space is limited. Since it's a 2.5-day trip, one backpack per person should be sufficient.

03

CNG Refill Stops Are Normal

CNG is sparsely available along the Gujarat highways. Your driver will make multiple refill stops. The time estimates in this guide already account for those stops.

04

Petrol vs CNG Cost Context

Petrol was around ₹110–111/litre in Bengaluru at the time of this trip (Jul 2026). CNG costs listed are for a small sedan. Larger vehicles cost more.

05

Dress Code: Traditional / Decent

Wear traditional clothes, decent shirt-pant, or t-shirt-jeans at all sites. Strictly no shorts, sleeveless tops, or revealing clothing anywhere.

06

All Darshans Are Free

Regular darshan at all 6 sites is free. VIP / special passes are optional but can save time at crowded sites like Dwarkadhish Dwarka. Buy only from official counters or websites.

07

Use a Private Cab — Not Public Transport

Depending on buses, trains, and local autos will add at least 1 extra day, reduce flexibility significantly, and make the trip uncomfortable. A private cab is strongly recommended.

08

Plan for Off-Peak Periods

Long weekends and holiday season are significantly more crowded. Plan this trip for non-holiday, non-peak periods for a comfortable and efficient experience.
